Substitute Teacher Set-up Guide
1. Once you get a computer/charger from the office or from IT, open it up and press the power button once. On the log-in screen, click Other User in the bottom left, then type in your sign-in information on this screen.
2. As a sub, you have an account and email through the school. Your username will be FirstinitalLastname Ex: John Doe -> jdoe If you've never signed in before, try the season name and year Ex: Fall2022, Winter2022 You will be required to change this password if it's your first-time signing in. Call the helpdesk with any sign-in issues: 724-552-2500
3. Once signed in, open up Google Chrome. It should take you to the GCC website. This is your home for getting everywhere you would need to get for work.
4. To get to your email, click on the faculty/staff heading on the right side and then click on M365 (Office) in the list of links
5. From here, the outlook button on the left will open your email
6. Office staff may send emails out to the staff regarding students being late to class or calling students to locations like the office or guidance.
7. If you need to connect the laptop to the Promethean board in the classroom, the teacher should have cables coming from their board. They either have a USB-C cable coming out from the board that can plug into your laptop or an HDMI cable that can plug in. Either way, plug it into your computer.
8. Once you're plugged in, double tap on the board to wake it up and then click the guest profile icon to sign in. Once signed in, click on the source icon on the bottom of the board and click USB-C or HDMI (depending on what you plugged into the laptop). From here, whatever is on your laptop screen will go onto the Promethean board for students to see.
